Conviva Goes Over-the-Top at CES

Another CES is in the books for Conviva and what a major week it was for us and the OTT community at CES! As Digiday reports, over-the-top streaming video took center stage at CES as “OTT is now just another mainstream viewing option, together with cable and satellite, and it is increasingly the first option,” according to Peter Csathy, founder of media advisory firm Creatv Media. CES was a great kick-off to 2018 for Conviva as our C-suite and sales team connected with top customers, prospects, ecosystem partners, press, and analysts who were also stoked about the great recognition OTT received this year.

At CES, Conviva’s Sake Suite at the Nobu Hotel was host to over 30 meetings where we presented an in-depth look at our Video AI Platform and highlighted the latest enhancements coming in 2018 to our award-winning Video AI Alerts. The new capabilities for Video AI Alerts provide more robust diagnosis that includes 50% more possible causes and dimensions of analysis which can take even more load off an OTT publisher’s most valuable resource—highly-skilled operations staff. Furthermore, Conviva’s Video AI Alerts are now part of our QoE Analytics Ecosystem Initiative, so alerts can be routed to leading CDN partners to enlist their support to solve and prevent delivery issues before they affect the viewer’s experience.

In order to develop and evolve video-specific artificial intelligence, a massive amount of global OTT service provider data is key. Conviva has the largest multi-publisher footprint on the planet with over 2.5B streaming video playing app sensors deployed, measuring over 14B video viewing hours annually. Given this rich data set, we were also proud to share Conviva’s Continuous Measurement Annual Census at CES, which highlights major OTT industry trends in 2017.

In addition to the many meetings to talk business, it was our pleasure to welcome a stellar group of our top customers for Sushi + CES, an evening of networking featuring a Nobu sushi chef, sake, and convivial conversation. This event was also the US launch of our 2017 research study with MTM, the results of which are included in the recently published Whitepaper. This is the first research study that takes a close look at OTT operational best practices, revealed by surveying leading OTT publishers and service providers from major publishers in North America and EMEA—a study that inadvertently acknowledged a great need for the use of automation and machine learning to facilitate OTT best practices.

Thank you to everyone who made time to meet or mingle with us—cheers to a fabulous CES and kickoff to 2018!
