What brought you to Conviva?

I have been a long-time follower of Conviva (and the Convivians who speak at the “Spark Summit” and other high-performance computing forums). Conviva uses the best of technology to achieve this. As a software developer, this is the perfect place to be.

Describe your experience as a new hire.

My colleagues are talented and amazing people. As a new hire, the onboarding is smooth. The team really cares that you learn and grow in the first few months. In my team, our goals are designed so that everyone can win.

Walk us through your typical day.

I generally go through my calendar and Slack channels and respond to anything urgent. This is mostly followed by brainstorming sessions within the team for engineering challenges. Afternoons are generally quiet, which is also the time I write code. Evenings are reserved for collaboration, cross-team integration, updates, and demo sessions.

What is the favorite part of your job?

It gives immense satisfaction knowing that we make streaming analysis easier for publishers. And our technology improves streaming quality across the world. We play a part in delivering entertainment to millions, especially recently as people have been forced to stay home due to the pandemic.

According to you, what are the key attributes that would make someone a great fit as an engineer at Conviva.

Personally, I would love to work with anyone who has keen interest in computers and networking, zeal to learn new technologies, and a team player.

Looking back at previous experiences, what makes Conviva stand out the most?

Conviva actually cares for you. The pandemic has magnified the unique culture at Conviva, where leaders expect people to take time off and take care of their family. New benefits like “pandemic leaves,” “Conviva holidays,” and “care packages” were announced to help employees. I also love the openness here, where feedback and surveys are taken positively.
