Conviva Acquired Delmondo in November of 2018 and has become Conviva Social Insights.
Did you hear the big announcement at the Apple event this month?
No I’m not talking about the Apple Watch, I’m talking about the Apple TV bundle that’s supposed to come out in the fall adding a ton of new premium content like HBO (and maybe even ESPN) to already viable distribution apps like Netflix, YouTube, Fusion, Hulu, Qello Concerts and more.
As the media landscape continues to evolve, technology is shifting towards not a trend of cord-cutters, but savvy consumers with appetites for serialized content on their own terms.
Outside of the Apple ecosystem, more and more companies are going mobile and over the top. Viacom, NBCU, and others have been racing to launch new bundles of channels to get content anywhere and everywhere that viewers are.
For creators, this means there are more opportunities than ever before to get content funded.
For brands it creates an opportunity to get ahead of the platforms and work directly with creators on the development of content to fit the appropriate platform.
When companies like Apple and HBO get involved it’s a win for the entire industry. A rising tide lifts all boats, and the trust by consumers in Apple will help further the value of independent creators in the future.
